Outstreached Shadow, and an Uncorrected Proof of Mad
Maudlin, and a Hard Cover 1st Edition 1st Printing Daw
30th Aniversary Fantasy ( DAW 1222 ). My wallet is £50.00
lighter ( do your own math guys, I've got a book to read

Don't feel bad - I make of point of getting my favorite authors in hardback.
Favorite authors include - Mercedes Lackey, Anne McCaffrey, Tom Clancy,
Elizabeth Moon, John Grisham. Needless to say I have 1 bookcase that has 6
shelves filled and 2 2-shelf bookcases - all filled. How do I read most of
my book - why on my iPaq of course Smile

OK I have 84 volumes; ( three of which are duplicates )
of which 48 are Hard cover 1st Editions. I also note that
I have one MIA ( The Ship Who Searched ) but I think my
brother has it, so I'll just go and beat him up !

Now THAT'S sad Surprised)

The closest rivals are
Terry Pratchett ( 29 )
Raymond E. Feist ( 24 )
David Eddings ( 23 )

The pen is mightier than the sword - unless that sword is

I use big, honking commercial wire rack shelves.
2 feet deep by 4 feet long by 6 feet tall; 5 shelves rated at about 300
pounds mass each. This is known as "overkill". Also very difficult for a
one year old monkey-boy grandson to tip over.

I own 2. In fact, much of my furniture is from that store. My
ex still drives 4 hours up here to go shopping at that store to
furnish her townhouse.

If'n it's Ikea you are nattering on about -- before we got one opening
here, the local Ikea obsessives used to drive to Chicago to shop at
the one there.

I looked at one still in a box (we ran out of room for it) they are 18
inches deep and rated at 350 pounds of evenly distributed weight per
shelf. The wires run long-ways so books do not fall through, they are
perpendicular to the slots between wires.

Do you really think I care about passing furniture to my kids?
I doubt the dogs will appriciate it. (Unless I left them a bed. That
they would like!) <g>

She doesn't come up that often - 2 or 3 times over the past
year. She just bought the townhome and had almost no furniture of her
own. She went with me when I was buying my furniture, so she knows
there is a lot of stuff she likes. (And, like me, she is never having
human children.)

IKEA furniture mostly comes packed in flat boxes, so you can fit a lot
of stuff into your car. We just recently carried home a loft bed in our
minivan with room to spare.

She drives a Jeep Liberty. It's amazing what you can fit into

Me too... There's a local version of ebay called Trade Me
which has been feeding my book addiction and my relatively
recent interest in anime for the last few months...

Best find: a copy of Jon Blum and Kate Orman's "Vampire
Science".

So have I...and I make a distinct effort to avoid driving (or riding
my motorcycle) anywhere in proximity to such situations. This
morning I saw the results of something similar: a matress (or box springs;
I couldn't tell) in the middle of I-66, followed shortly by what appeared
to be the remains of a table and its glass top. Not what you want
to have suddenly appear in front of you...or off to the side,
where some *other* driver might swerve into your lane.

I guess it depends at where you draw the line of car/not car. A Chevy
Suburban is licensed in Pennsylavania as a station wagon, but I would
not call it a car, personally. But I would be willing to bet a Pontiac
Aztec could hold a washer or dryer, but not both. Of course, depending
where you bought them they may have "free" delivery, and remove your old
machines.
