When My Ma first went grey like a badger, with two almost-white streaks
over her forehead when she did her hair up, she started to take that
well-known cure for no known disease, ginseng, and her hair went
mostly-black again for almost three years!

You forgot needing the airconditioning on again in two
days:-) Just put the comforter back on the bed
(again). I had to take it off and go back the the
thin blanket last week.

at the temples. Rule #1, don't ask your hubby what he
thinks of your dramatic grey streaks---I got compared
to the Bride of Frankenstein. Grey at the temples for
them is "distinguished" for us BofF. Nowadays my
streaks are staging a coup and trying to outnumber the
dark.

Me? I'm getting ready to help out at a collectors show in Birmingham in a
week or so (well, it's sort of helping out a friend who has a stand and also
trying to plug a project I've been doing)
As for mudguards, which come up elsewhere in this thread - my bike (one of
the old fashioned mountain bikes that were really gents tourers with chunky
tyres and millions of gears) didn't come with them, they were an optional
extra, and I got looks from the person in the shop when I requested them,
but I knew better than to attempt road cycling without guards reducing the
amount of crud flying up from the road.
The only things that came even close to matching the bright green frame were
fluorescent yellow plastic numbers, but I got them anyway - and they are
still there some 20 years later, a little grubby, but still (mostly)
functioning. I'm looking at a new bike now - I need something with a little
more suspension now - and I'm going to have to return to the subject of
mudguards for these new fangled frame designs...

May the birthdays go well, you can always use them as
an excuse to delay the Christmas rush. We've
birthdays on Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st---my rule was and
is no Christmas decorations until after the birthdays!
No tree until the 3rd Sunday of Advent. Can you tell
I'm old fashioned?
