Frankly, that's hilarious. I wonder if the same thing comes up
for other cross-oceanic travel.

Either way, someone had WAAAY too much time on their hands.

It works for a number of different pairs of cities for cross-Atlantic
travel (not sure whether it works in both directions). From what I
gather, it doesn't work for the Pacific ocean.

At least they have the following disclaimer:

"These directions are for planning purposes only. You may find that
construction projects, traffic, or other events may cause road
conditions to differ from the map results."

I assume "Atlantic Ocean" would count as one of those.

Speaking of time, I see that the driving/swimming instructions say the trip
will take about 29 days and 7 hours...which averages out to a bit over 5
MPH, assuming no pit stops, sleep, or recharging your system with a smuggled
dose of hot chocococolate. That speed seems to be a bit optimistic
(especially in New York and the wharf area of Boston).

Just for grins, after looking at the NYC - Paris route, I deleted Paris and
typed in London, England. The route takes you to London via Boulogne &
Calais, and then accross the Channel, apparently via the ferry route.
