was "The Witching Hour" and I was hooked!!!! I am now starting the Vamp
Chron....I am about half way done with 'The Queen of The Damned" So far
I am loving it. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi Jayde

I fairly new to this group myself. I don't know why it took me so long to
read an Anne Rice book. Everyone told me how great they were. I finally
went out and bought Interview. The book was 100 times better than the
movie. Now I'm hooked and am about where you are in Queen of the Damned.
The Chronicles are proving to be a very captivating story. I love it.

I totally know what you mean. After I had finished Interview... I
watched the movie again.
Uuuuuugh. I wish that they would try and stay close to the book when
they make a movie!....oh well. I stayed up really late reading last
night.....LOL I am almost finished...but, I have to go to work tonight.

Take care

My one piece of advice would be to see Queen of the Damned (the movie) as a
completely separate entity from the book. And there are a lot of opinions
about Anne Rice books, but my suggestion would be to read them and form your
own opinion, and offer what you can to the discussions

Welcome to the group!

Watching Queen of the Damned is what finally got me to read the books. I
liked Interview (the movie), but it wasn't good enough to make read the
book. I'm glad I changed my mind. I think they should have made The
Vampire Lestat into a movie of its own rather than taking pieces of it and
Queen of the Damned and combining them to make a movie that doesn't go with
the books.

I would like to see that myself. I think the best idea, and I've been thinking
of this for a while, is to make like a mini series on HBO or showtime of all of
the books. That'd probably take a month to veiw though. It could kind of be
like scifi epic Taken. Oh well, that's my thoughts. Welcome to the group.

Welcome. I would, too, but then I'd complain about how they didn't look like
the characters and so on. LOL It's funny, my friends used to, and some still
are, obessed with music bands and I'd be like why? Now, I am the same with
characters in a book. Lestat is addictive. =(

I'm jealous - I haven't finished it yet. I still have about 75 pages or so
left. I don't get a lot of time to devote to it lately, so I've just been
reading it on the way to and from work. I should have it done by the end of
the week (without too many distractions).

I know the feeling. I have a lot of honors classes and wind reading a lot of
cr@p I don't want to. Like now, I just finished reading 3 (thank god they were
novelas though. so fast reads) books for school for next year. Just try to
budge it your time. I hate when I can't finish the books I like either.
