Hi all.
What biography of Dick would any of you recommend?
Any I should steer clear of?

Thanks!

Lawrence Sutin's _Divine Invasions: A Life of Philip K. Dick_
is definitely the best. It's scholaraly, readable, and does not
flinch from the unpleasant aspects of PKD's personality
and life.

Thanks. As I said in a previous post I'm new to this group
and have always wondered what might be a good read on this subject.

  Cheers,

I've read most of "I Am Alive and You Are Dead," by Emmanuel Carerre, and it
gets into an awful lot you will not find in any other biography, though it is at
times hard to read because of Dick's sometimes exceedingly painful behaviour.
The guy really was skating on the absolute edge of insanity.

There is a very hard to find bio titled PHILIP K. DICK by Douglas A.
Mackey that I highly recommend. The last used copy I saw over on
Amazon.com went for almost $200.oo. Check used bookstores, I found a
copy for $30.oo, it's very well written.
