Arwen / Aniron - Is the stuff in the film with Arwen like the book? The first scene with Arwen, when she causes the river to rise up, in the book is a different elf. I thought the Arwen stuff slowed down the film but it had nice music. In the Enya song she says

Looks like Arwen won't be on Paths - Caught the 10 minute sneak preview of the Return of the Kings (on the Two Towers DVD) and it looks like the Paths of the Dead scene will not include Arwen. The way the preview looked, in fact, it seems that Jackson has cut everyone but Aragorn, Legolas..

Arwen and Mortality Question - Hey Guys, Can you help me with this one. 2 1) What is the nature of her choice and why is it that she has this doom laid upon her? Is it because like Elrond, she has human lineage and therefor has to make the same choice about..

Arwen: Did she really choose to be of the Edain? - Did Arwen *really* choose to be one of the Edain? Or did she just choose to die? I ask this because I notice that if Arwen really chose to be one of the Edain, she would have died on the spot, being well over 2,000 years old... or does a human..

Idea for the Council of Elrond - Many times here people have wondered, why the white hats didn't use eagles to carry the Ring to the fire. I just thought of a plan they could have chosen that I don't recall hearing of before: They could have made a deal with Sauron, along the lines that

It's been a few years since I read the novel, but I don't remember any
mention of her.

Celebrian is her name. She was attacked and captured by Orcs in the
Misty Mountains while traveling between Lorien and Rivendell, and
badly hurt. Her sons rescued her. Elrond healed her, but she got
sick and tired of Middle Earth and passed over the sea.

This adds an edge to Elrond and Arwen's feelings about her marrying
Aragorn. Not only will Elrond never see her again, she will also
never see her mother again, even after death, and Elrond has to
explain to her when he gets there why he showed up without her,
"Well, dear, it was like this...."

Holding you, I'm smiling, too

Actually, it's a little more complex than that. Given the general British
reticence of Tolkien to say anything like it outright in no uncertain terms, I
always figured that what had happened to her was gangrape by a small army of
Orcs. And while Elrond healed her, he wasn't able to REALLY HEAL her... much
like with Frodo's wound.

Why do you preverts always imagine and then broadcast your sickness?
Tolkien never said that orcs had ... uh ... willies. When he said that
they were born after the manner of the Children of Eru, I just assumed
that the female orcs used morphine (and/or screamed).
