Tne relkci,
Might I suggest you give a book written in English about Elizabethan
Drama, instead of a book written in Latin or French?
If your friend likes Shakespeare, I recommend Dramtic Miscellanies:
Consisting of Critical Observations on Several Plays of Shakespeare by
Thomas Davies, originally published in three volumes in 1785. You don't
mention how much you are willing to spend, but you can pick up a modern
reprint of this work for less than fifty dollars.
You can also go to abebooks.com and do the following search: keywords:
Elizabethan Drama. minimum price: $50 Date published: after:1600
before:1900 This search will produce a list of some choice books that
a theatre major might enjoy.
The best choice, perhaps, is to contact a bookseller whose specialty is
Drama, and deal with him or her. Email me and I'll provide a list of
booksellers.
Cheers,
Jerry Morris

I have a friend who is a threatre major, and I would like to give a gift
that will provide some motivation, maybe something she could keep.
What I would like to find is a 17th century Theatre Theory book.
The problem? I can read latin only so well and don't have enough
experience with french to be able to read it well enough to understand
what soemthing is about. The other problem is I really don't know where
to go to find such an article.
The only place I've been able to find remotely what I'm looking for is
on eBay. I've tried local antique book stores and they are not help.
The internet is a powerful resource, do anyone here have any ideas?
Thanks for the help!
