A little help?

Hello all, I'm new and glad to be here. I recently had to repurchase a
lot of my old ST reading material as quite a bit has gotten lost over
the years. I found almost everything I was looking for, but there was
one book I remembered from a long time ago and I've forgotten the title
and nearly everything about it. So on the off chance one of you will
recognize this: Does anyone remember a book where Kirk reads "Treasure
Island"? That's the one scene that stands out in my mind, and it's
really bugging me that I don't remember what it was. Any help greatly
appreciated, it's starting to keep me up nights!
