Post subject: Can you identify either of these 2 books???

I’m looking for a book my wife has as a child. It was a compilation of numerous fairy tales. I know that it at least had these but there were more:

Ugly Duckling
Rapunzel
Rumpelstiltskin
Elves and the Shoemaker
Puss in Boots or Puss n’ Boots

On the front cover, I believe there is a hot air balloon and I also think when you open the book, there is kindof a map or road.

It most likely would have been published in the early 80’s but could be a little earlier or later.

The second one is a childrens book I read as a child. Most likely published in the 70’s or early 80’s…

All I can remember about it is that at the end the mailman brings the boy a new pair of sneakers. There is also a portion in which the boy tracks mud through his school halls. He lived in a city area where he would sit on the steps.

Sorry I don’t have more information but figured it’s worth a shot.

Thanks!
