Hi!
I was a somewhat regular follower of the group a long while back -- back
in the leadup to Codex, Pre-KKB days.
Then life, in the form of a new job, followed by pregnancy and parenthood,
intervened, and what time I had to be online I devoted mostly to parenting
boards and that sort of thing.
But I finally got my copy of ITKS last month, and pored over it... and
then of course I had to pull out my Codex and see where it all fit... and
then I decided I was finally going to find myself good used copies of
Bishop's Heir, King's Justice, and Quest for St. Camber... and then I
googled "deryni" to see who was still out there discussing these books!
Seems like I've missed a lot. Codex II is no more, Rob Reginald's Dark
Haired Man would seem to have been converted to a non-Deryni world,
Codeces selling for close to 3K on ebay (note to self: from this point on,
my Codex does not accompany me into the bathroom for any reason!)...
I can't tell if this is *the* Deryni place to be, or whether there are now
web boards that have supplanted Usenet, but I thought I'd post this
introduction, or re-introduction, and try to join into whatever passes?
I'm 30-something, and discovered "Deryni Rising" in a library in northern
England when I was 14 - the same age as Kelson was. Devoured the first
trilogy, came back to the US (we were on a sabbatical year) and found the
next. In rereading KKB last week I realized I've gone from being Kelson's
age to being just about Morgan's age.
two kids - a nearly 4yo boy and a 7mo girl - who might have been "Duncan"
had she been a boy

"Malcom' was also on the short list.
Two cats, brothers.
I've worked in libraries, with books, or as a researcher my whole working
life. I'm also a genealogy buff, and in my haze of "what to do with
myself" when we had a big move that left me jobless for months, I entered
everything I could enter from the Codex into a database in my genealogy
program. Need to do that with the info from KKB and ITKS, don't I?
Hummm...
anyway, looking forward to whatever discussions happen, or being pointed
to where the best place for such discussions now is (if not here?)
