| feist newbie - Hey, I am new to reymond feist. I noticed his new book of the Silver in the store. It peaked my interest. I noticed it was book two in a series. I thought 'cool, I won't have to read to many to catch up'. I then noticed..
Newbie question - Hi, I am new to REF's books - I am wondering if anyone could give me a good idea which of Ray's books to read first. Any opinions on the best starter book? Haven't read much fantasy lately, unless you call reading Harry Potter to my kids fantasy. I was a
Searching for facts! - Heyas! I'm currently searching a name appearing in one of Feist's books Midkemia. The problem is I can't remember which book it was. I only remember parts of the scene... Someone was talking to a dragon and it started telling a story about..
legends:jimmy the hand - hi just finished reading jimmy the hand in the legends series delivered yesterday from it maybe not be as indepth as some of the other novels but is still a cracking read. i always look forward to anything by r.e.f. so anybody else receive..
Books to Films - Hi, ive got all his books, and i think that some big film company should make some, if not all his books in to films, like lord of the rings. lee

Nobody has mention Raymonds 'other' book which I quiet enjoy. Faerie
Tale is fantasy set in a here and now like environment around a young
family. It's a one only so you don't have to commit yourself to too
much reading. Totally smashing story.

Belgariad's a must read... Also, please try Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth
series. Goodkind has a unique way of writing fantasy that has modern themes
twisted in without you knowing it. Also I was very impressed by the way he
handled sexual themes as well.

Do you find that the more you read some books the more details you miss the
first time around? I can only read a handful of books that many times .. the
rest will go to a corner of a bookshelf for ever. I will check that one and
see what is about,,thanks.

I do... when I find a book I really like I'll read it twice just to
make sure I got everything heeheehe. I have with most of Raymonds
books. Melanie Rawn is another favorite of mine in this genre. Tho,
I'm not up to date with either author  (

As to the original subject, I have noticed that many Rowling and
Eddings fans (or just people finding them good) also like Pratchett
and McCaffrey.

Robin Hobb's the Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies are also a great read. So
is Steven Kings, The Dark Tower. Both these ARE fantasy series but they are
a heavier read than most.

That was definitely an error . I ment book 6. And believe that if I ever
read 7 before anyone else I wouln't say anything.
I have read a lot of people mentioning and recomending Pratchett. I will
get to him after Eddings and Feist since I have a few years before Rowling
finish 6 th .
