Trivia:

Author Jack Kerouac contemplated suing the show's producers claiming the
show was taken from his book "On The Road". He also didn't like the fist
fights that Buz and Tod got into.

Nelson Riddle's theme music for the show became a hit record in 1962 and is
played as background music on many documentaries dealing with the real
highway Route 66.

Ironically, the show was filmed on locations all around the USA, but rarely
near the real Route 66.
