I don't get to turn them into films, as I am not a major studio or
independently wealthy producer. If a major studio wants to option them
for film, I'm certainly going to listen.
As for the faithful adaptation part, it's always a hot button issue
with fans. While Peter Jackson tweaked Lord of the Rings, they were
still great films. There's a reason Return of the King won the best
film Oscar. I don't know about you, but I felt no remorse that he
cut Tom Bombadill from the story.
As for who would play in the various roles, that has come around a
number of times since 1982 when the book was first published; a lot of
the actors I imagined back in the day are now two old or deceased.
And, truth to tell, if it was turned into film, I'd not care who was
cast just as long as they were good in the roles.

I'm working on it.
