New online resource for writers

Quentin Long here to announce the latest update to my little
website-for-writers. I've added some information on "print on demand"
services, the modern (and rather less pernicious) incarnation of the
vanity press. You can find my site at this URL:

Quentin Long here to apologize for the recent disappearance of
Quentinslist.com from off the net. Don't you just hate it when a host
server goes offline without warning? Me, too... and that's why I've
moved the site to a different host. On the bright side, this unexpected
outage has given me the opportunity to perform some hopefully-useful
modifications on the site.
One: A new page devoted to 'offline tools' -- namely, books that
you, as an aspiring writer, really ought to have and read.
Two: More clickable hyperlinks! If it's a book title, clicking on it
brings up a new window (most likely within the Amazon.com domain) from
which you can order that book if you so desire; if it's the name of an
author, clicking on it brings up a new window with the results of an
Amazon.com search for that author.

It'll take a day or so for the new URL to percolate thru to all the
DNS servers, but as soon as it does, you'll be able to once again
browse Quentinslist.com by surfing on over to this address:

http://quentinslist.com

In the meantime, if you want to be *absolutely certain* you can
browse Quentinslist.com *right now*, you'll be glad to know the
'physical URL' of the site:

Yes, it's an AOL-hosted site -- but have no fear, it's the same site
you've been seeing, and is *still* 100% free of irritating crap like
popup ads!

Quentin Long here to announce the latest update to my

much-needed additions, but what's new is mostly a new Rant. This one is

Quentin Long here with two notices about my website for writers.

Notice the first: I want to apologize for the last, misfired,
update. Having only just recently switched to a new host, I... um...
uploaded the files to the wrong URL. Mea maxima culpa, I've corrected
the problem, and it won't happen again.
Notice the second: I've updated the site. Really, I have. Honestly!
One, I've enlarged the page on conventional publishing, which now has a
section on magazines. Two, I've put a search box on the site map.
Three, a bit of self-promotion; the 'about me' page now has a link to
my Zazzle.com gallery, where I sell cards, posters, and T-shirts. Feel
free to surf on over and check it out.

Quentin Long here, announcing the latest update to my website for
writers, and apologizing for the fact that this one happened more than
two months after the last one. I got hit hard by whatever flu/crud was
going around in January, and I kinda lost momentum... but I'm back now!
And I intend to stick to a more-or-less weekly schedule of updates.

So what's in *this* update, you ask? Two things.
First, I added some info on an outfit called Tate Publishing to the
"conventional publishing" page. Tate is a somewhat unusual company, but
it does seem to be one that's worth looking into.
Second, I upgraded the "site map" page; there's now links to each
subsection within a page, for those pages that *have* subsections.
