Magician is my personal all time favourite book (I have read ALOT of
sci-fi / fantasy) and I would love nothing more than to have a wander
from Crydee to Krondor. I could then explore the Krondor sewers and join
the mockers at mothers or 101 other things that Mr Feist as made me
dream of.
I remember reading something about a MMO based around Midkemia and the
Riftwars but nothing seems to have emerged. A MMORPG based around The
Kingdom (and further into Kesh... or even Kelewan?) would be my dream
game. With the lore, races and politics ready made it should almost be
"just add graphics".
For anyone not aware MMORPG = massive multiplayer online role playing
game. Rays world would be the best setting and an opportunity to remake
the MMO genre and drag it from the abyss that Everquest through to World
of Warcraft created.
Anyway thats my begging over with Keep up the great work Ray!

Thanks, I'll try.
Re: MMORPG. Like films and TV, game companies are always asking
questions and making suggestions. I can never talk about on-going
negotiations, so until you hear a formal announcement on anything
relating to an on-line game, assume that I'm yakin' with a lot of
different people and that at any time, anything is possible. We talked
a lot of companies, for example, before making our first deal with
Dynamix for Betrayal at Krondor, and the same held true before we cut a
deal with 7th Level for Return. It was really a business fluke that had
both companies end up with Sierra when the dust settled. Just like we
waited a long time before cutting a comic book deal, and now
Marvel/Dabel Brothers are just killing with their adaptation. Sales are
far exceeding expectations and we hope to see this relationship go on
for a very long time.

Great to hear that the comic book deals are exceeding expectations Ray!
So that's a weighted 'maybe' on the MMORPG huh?
I hope that all is well with your family.
Can we get an offcial word on whether "Wrath" will make it's October
publication date?
Best wishes,

Almost certainly no. I suspect this is the first officially "blown"
deadline I've had in 28 years. So expect it next April, about the same
time as the US edition.
I've had vision issues since March, a function of age, and while things
are beginning to improve (not back to "before" yet, but getting there),
I can't hit the computer for those long rewrite sessions like I used to.
I had a good day today, doing 34 pages of original and rewrite, but it's
the first day over 20 pages since March. I'll turn it in about a week
from now, but I fear we're too late to make production for the fall.

Never get your hopes up on 4 year old press releases. <g>
Iron Realm is producing a MUD, or so they say, and I have no idea when
it's going to go public. I'm not deep into the game part of that deal.
They optioned a graphic game right, but those rights reverted very
quickly as they couldn't get the money people on line.

I'm pleased to hear that you had a good day today and I sincerely hope that
it continues to get better. I have recently accepted the fact that I'm going
to have to save some money and go to an optometrist soon too. There's
nothing like age-related physical decline to remind you that you're mortal.
(Like I needed that. <g>)

No matter. 'Though a new R.E.F. book is a real highlight for me in a world
where such things are increasingly rare, I can wait.
Health and happiness are more important, I wish you both,
