I use easynews as a news server and Agent as my newsreader, and every
time I download all my groups, it hangs and crashes on the Vonnegut
group. If I delete the group then I get no crash. Then I re-load the
group and "get new messages for all groups" and it crashes when it
gets to the Vonnegut group!
Any ideas?

I've used various versions of Forte Agent since 1996, on over a
dozen different news servers, and that's how long I've been on this
newsgroup. Never a problem. At the moment I'm using v1.92/32.572
(minus the X-Mailer header), not having any particular interest in
v1.93 and decidedly no interest in v2.X until they get much further
along with their plans and start adding nested folders and multiple
POP accounts.

Has this only been happening since you installed v1.93?

If not, my first recommendation would be to examine, with idiotic
care, each of the various Group|Properties settings which are
particular to this newsgroup. Particularly, of course, looking very
closely at anything where you've overridden the default properties.

My second would be to click on Online|RefreshGroupsList and ensure
the abk-v group is still carried by your mail server.

Thanks for the reply.
No, I'm using the same version I've been using for over a year (1.93),
which works just fine.
This just started happening suddenly a couple days ago. Pretty sure I
have not made any changes to Options but I'll double check.
Yes, the group still exists on the server.
Will let you know if I find out what the problem is. Otherwise, I'll
just have to Unsubscribe from this group and just check it manually on
occasion. Not much happening here, lately, anyway...
Does Whyaduck still post here or is he too busy with that HBO show?
Wish he'd get busy and finish the KV doc!

Now it seems to be working fine and I changed nothing!
Must have just been a hiccup in the system somewhere.
