Imajica. Wild ride,indeed!

What should I read next?

Thanks,

On 21 jul 2003 Dickness used a few bytes in alt.books.clive-barker to
let us know that:

I'd say 'Dune' by Frank Herbert. Or did you mean a Clive Barker book?
I'll go with the Hellbound Heart. Short and loveable.

Ok, as much as I wanna kick the shit-disturbin' Dutchman's ass for not
remembering which ng he posts on, I can't NOT agree with him re
Dune...they'd take my 'ubergeek' badge away. And I like my badge - it's
shiny!
So, yeah, Weaveworld, then take a break and read Dune.

Thanks for the help. I remembered that I have already read Dune and
Hellbound Heart. Will check out Neil Gaiman though. Thanks all!

I loved Virtual Light... In fact, both the Sprawl and Bridge
series were wicked. Speaking of Sprawl, if you haven't
read the short story Burning Chrome, you really should; it's superb!

So, kiddies...since we're already at it, let's call it a new thread
and ask which other authors (and which of their books) you love.
Any genre, any author.

The most obvious ones that come to mind for me are:
Gaiman, Gibson, Frank Herbert, Gary Jennings, Maureen McHugh, and George
Turner.
And a huge tip o' the hat goes to Mr. King, of course (that should be a
given).
There are many others I love, of course, but I'm trying to keep it short for
some reason.
I'm weird that way - like...good god...I just realized I named those authors
in alphabetical
order. Gah! Someone call the ubernerd police!!

K, your turn.

Mysteron Agent, a big ole nerd.

If you want hard science fiction then I would give Alastair Taylor a try.
His three novels "Revelation Space", "Chasm City" and "Redemption Ark" are
all set in the same universe and are excellent hard sf, with lots of action
adventure and big ideas. In a similar vein the science fiction of Iain M
Banks is very good and I have to admit, having sampled his non-genre fiction
he is an excellent writer. "The Wasp Factory" is probably the one most
liekly to appeal to Barker readers but I've also enjoyed "Complicity",
"Walking On Glass" and "The Bridge", which has some superficial similarity
to "Sacrament".

Andrew, you probably meant Alastair Reynolds, right?
