really enjoy the buddy/partner theme in many books by such authors as Robert
Crais . Joe Lansdale, Dennis Lehane, Harlen Coben to name a few

Any suggestions for new authors to check out

Thanks in advance

Mark

Michael Connelly - I've enjoyed all his books.

May I propose 'Better The Devil You Know' by Sue Simpson please. It's a
twisty, turney
psychological thriller. Synopsis and sample chapters in the bottom link
below.

Failing that I'm reading Different Seasons by Stephen King and it's a pretty
good four story read.

With Andrew Vachss, don't read just the Burke series (which is
absolutely terrific), but check out his non-series novels, too. THE
GETAWAY MAN is brand new, and it rocked. SHELLA is my favorite of
Vachss's older books.

I loved The Getaway Man. I thought Vachss channelling Jim Thompson was
terrific.
And it's one of those books that seems timelless. It could have happened in
the fifties or yesterday. Great book.
