May I just take a moment to declare that I have just come back from a
Birthday Treat (for the Newphew) visit to Legoland Windsor and, despite the
irritatio nof having to struggle against the closed roads, heaving traffic
and flapping Fascinators of Royal Ascot, a fine old time was had by all
(even if I DID get maneuvered into the front seat on all the water rides,
meaning that Grumpy Uncle Paul got a thorough soaking every time...)
Nephew came away with tons of new lego sets, and I came away with a Lego
Indiana Jones keyring to go with my Lego Darth Vader keyring.
Most interesting moment? Having Nephew explain Loki...
Au Res.,

oh dear, they do say that dark arts tend to involve virgin sacrifice,
and it's quite easy to spot a virgin woodlouse as most of them only have
twelve legs rather than a proper mature fourteen. unless we scurry away
particularly fast, of course, which when we see a dark artist we tend
to. where were we? um. yes, no plumbers needed today as this rotting log
has convenient mains water services whenever it rains.

Negative 41, try 44.

Name badges can be "useful", if people can read them & understand them--it's always nice to be able to say, "John said it was over here". But then you get places like my employer--photo IDs were now being required and everyone must wear one. Names were optional. I'm not sure if it's still "optional" but.....There were some people when the pin-on name tags were in use, who would wear one designated, "Staff". There's something about working with some of the stranger elements of the public that makes people with unique names a little nervous. I'm on the easily lost in the crowd group---not a John Smith, but definite not Hidoshira O'Leary of Piper fame either.
