I don't think Asimov wrote this one (though I used to think so), but I
figured somebody who frequents this group might know it anyway. It's a
story I read in some anthology or other years ago, about an
international chess tournament that featured a computer as a contestant
for the first time. The title, I think, was "The 64-Square (something),"
but that could be wrong.
Anybody recognize it?

No! Not that, one...
It's the one about the computer saying it doesn't has enough data...

er....
Is it the one that ends with "And the Universal AC says ... "

er....
simply the question shold be
"Can you tell me the science fiction story that ... ?"

Wandering along the edges of alt.books.isaac-asimov, I found the following
bit of electronic flotsam written by Bob Gill <bobgill.DeleteThis@erols.com> in
news:42C737DD.1D988F39@erols.com:

I think you would do better to ask in rec.arts.written.sf, because there
are more posters & lurkers, thus presumably a broader & deeper collective
pool of knowledge

From the subject shouldn't the question be about... Oh,
you know, that one about entropy and the computer?

I thought of including that, just for fun, but I do remember that one.
(My opinion of it isn't as high as Asimov's was, though.)

That sounds pretty likely. Thanks for the info.
