This is actually the worst "bio" ever written about Kerouac. It is a
political document which attempts to fit Kerouac into the author's
political agenda.

It is routinely dismissed by Kerouac scholars.

Read "Memory Babe" by Gerald Nicosia for starters.

Having read almost all the Kerouac bios, from Charters to the below
mentioned Nicosia one, the Amburn book is still fascinating, though
often disturbing, reading...
