I've been reading Perry O'shaunessey, Stephen White, Nevada Barr, JA Jance, Pat
Cornwell, and Kathy Reichs and have read up to their newest books out and am
looking for some more authors that may be similar to these. Any suggestions
would be welcome. Thanks Smile

How about something even better?

Michael Connelly
Laura Lippman
SJ Rozan
George Pelacanos
Marcia Muller
Walter Mosley
Cara Black
Dan Simmons
Peter Robinson

There are many many more. Check out some of these interviews and
see if anything strikes your fancy.

Similar to the authors you mentioned, Laura Lippman she has a series
re: a Baltimore PI Tess Monighan - good sense of place, (Baltimore - the
author resides there) lots of literary allusions (the protagonist's aunt
owns a book shop - in the early serie books, the protagonist lives above
the book shop), historical references as well. My book club read one of
her books - there were no negative comments.

Susan Wittig Alberts - a little slower moving than some of the authors
you mentioned - set in Texas, ea book revolves around an herbal theme-
protagonist runs an herb shop in Tx -formerly was a lawyer - lots of
plant trivia - only did not like one of the books by her that I read.
Just ordered 3 more - they are in the TBA pile.

Happy reading

I really like this series and it's slower pace.
