Own up, Google report that there have been 248 uses of the phrase "It's a
tradition, or an old charter, or something" on Usenet

I know I'm responsible for a few, how often do you use this phrase in other
NGs?

Because I am and to prove it I've just had a look to see who the authors
were Smile
I'm only guilty on two counts and one of the others is a certain Mr Tom
Holt.

I think I only ever use it in the pub, generally when explaining why it
still isn't my round yet.

I started with Paint Your Dragon and most recent read was Overtime (The
phrase "The White Album" will never be quite the same again).
I'd recommend Tom Holt for the Rankin-and-file readership.

IRTA "The White Room" thinking of some KLF reference. what with
the whole Illuminati thing that might not be so far-fetched.

I've always thought that whole "white" in the title thing was a lot of
rubbish. The recording 'artist' will say it's because it's definitive in
terms of output and they didn't want a 'label' to pin it down.
I reckon it just shows lack of imagination.

I don't think The KLF could ever be accused of "lack of
imagination"[1].

Possibly "over active imagination" but certanly not a lack!
