Due to health issues, mainly not strangling various docs who were
absolutely certain that I was fine, and the pain I was feeling would
"just go away". Well, not just that, but it started in January (it
started five years ago, or at least my quest for a certain operation
did) but the recent go round started in January with a sharpish pain
in my side that was initially attributed to kidney stones. That
wasn't the problem, and various ultrasounds and CT scans of my
abdomen didn't reveal the actual cause of the pain-or they did,
actually, only no one read them right. Long story short, I am now
mostly recovered from a hysterectomy, necessitated by the severe
endometriosis that was gumming up various systems in the abdominal
area. Everything went well, and although I am now a menopausal woman,
I am a woman no longer in excruciating pain. Hallelujah, Amen, and
pass some TS, I think I deserve a bender.

You do indeed! I'm so glad you finally got what seems to have been the
proper diagnosis and treatment -- always a problem, like when they didn't
believe I had gallstones, they just assumed that my skin was naturally
brown (I'm a fair-skinned red-head with freckles, more or less, when my
bilirubin count is where it ought to be rather than up in the high five
hundreds) and then they when they *did* finally admit what was wrong it was
too dangerous to operate because my bilirubin count was up in the high five
hundreds...

Have a TS. Have several. Hey, BB, roll out a barrel!

There's some nice Bear Restorer, too. (And the chocolate fondue machine
is warming up nicely - but if you go up that end of the bar, make sure
you keep at least one chair between yourself and the Firedrake's new
cheese (it hasn't been broken to harness yet).)

Welcome back!

Huzzah! Someone pass this sack of garlic-fried crisps into the Lundy.

Ouch, ooch, eech and ouch again. Welcome to the
hot-flash club--soy supplements do help a bit.
Congratulations on not strangling the idiots. I was
luck, my GYNs believed me except one. Her I saw once,
you don't need anything stronger than asperin---right,
percocet made life endurable, just. I hope the
recovery goes well and if there's anything I can
do/send over the river let me know.

Jackie

Sounds like a good idea. We'll all drink to a
pain-free existance! Blasted medicos, think they know
anything--in a ideal world, they'd get to suffer all
the pains they misdiagnose.

Oooh, and I can eat garlic again, that was a horrid couple of weeks,
when even the smell of garlic caused severe stomach turning ickiness.

Would they, technically, be garlic-refried crisps once they've been clawed
by a drake?

Welcome back and a bender you shall have - I've sent for a vat of the 1872
by way of a pain extinguisher.

I'll drink to that. Oooh, margaritas! Round these parts they have
taken to selling lime popsicles. Dunked in tequila, they are simply
divine! Perfect for when the mercury goes up past 90F.

Good wishes are very nice for now. I went through two GYNs before
getting the third who listened and made the operation happen even
though she didn't find anything drastically wrong-and she even did a
D&C to try to figure out what was going on. She made as close to an
apology as any medic ever has, when she said that the operation
should probably have been done five years ago, and yes, she did know
how long I have been looking for ease from the pain.

On the other positive front, the symptoms of hyperthyroid seem to
have gone-my hair is no longer falling out like it was, so it is
easier to brush, and I can wear necklaces again because they don't
bother my throat.
