I was in a hospital bed, having just been told I would certainly be a
mother before the week is out. Not that it was a complete surprise, I
knew that I was pregnant - but the baby wasn't due until late February
or early March.

Later that night, my pre-eclampsia went into overdrive. Athena made
her debut just before midnight, and my life has never been the same
since.

Happy Birthday, darling girl. It's been a sometimes tough road, but I
wouldn't have missed it for anything!
